In conjunction with ASSA, Belmont 16ft Skiff Club and Manly 16ft Skiff Club have mutually agreed to change the rotation of the 2022 and 2023 13ft and 16ft Skiff Australian Championships.

The 2022 Australian Championships will now be hosted by Belmont 16s and the 2023 Australian Championships will be hosted by Manly 16s. It is expected that each regattas will run in January of its respective year with exact dates to be confirmed.

This change was agreed by the Clubs and ASSA due to the timing of redevelopment activities each Club is undergoing over the next 22 months. Manly 16s has commenced construction on a significant redevelopment of St George Sailing Club and Belmont 16s is planning to commence an extensive clubhouse refurbishment in mid-2022.  Given the timing of each Club’s building activities a change of rotation was considered appropriate to ensure the success of each regatta without over-burdening each clubs’ operations and resources.

ASSA acknowledges the collaborative and supportive relationship the two Clubs have demonstrated in agreeing this course of action as well as their ongoing broad assistance to ASSA and the 13ft and 16ft Skiff classes.

The exact dates for the 2022 and 2023 Australian Championships will be confirmed shortly.
